WP Design
Spoke with Jeff on Saturday and we are planning a day next week. I think Jeff is still off on Thursdays which would make it the 28th. Everyone will need to purchase a pass from Jackson Guard before going to WP. (You can do it on the way just allow some extra time) They are $10 per year and you gain access to any rec military site - I think. You will be required to watch a short 6 or 7 minute video.
Let's wait and see if Jeff is still off and available and we will post it on the calendar. How does 10 am sound to everyone?
Think about some people you know that might be interested in sponcering tee pads, signs, holes, t-shirts,
etc: we will need help!
Anyone need a ride to PJC Milton or Mobile?

White Point Disc Golf Course
OK - Last call.
We will be meeting at WP next Thursday 28th, 2010. We will be leaving FWB at 8:30 to the Jackson Guard to get our annual park pass.
Cost is $10 - the golf will be free. Will need to watch a short 6-7 minute video and that's it. Design will begin at 10 am
If you don't make it don't complain if the design is not as you would have done it.
Hope to see everyone there - - come early, come late just come! haha

military id
Guess the answer is yes. Come on Gary - you will need one to play anyway and we would love to have your input. I would think that maybe the board during tournamants could make some prizes the pass for the following year. Anyway here is the info:
The Eglin Natural Resources Branch, locally known as Jackson Guard, is tasked with management of the vast natural resources found throughout the 464,000 acre Eglin reservation. Approximately 280,000 acres of the reservation are open to public use and enjoyment and specific information regarding hunting, fishing and outdoor recreational opportunities can be obtained by contacting or visiting the Natural Resources Branch office at 107 Hwy. 85 North, Niceville, Fla. A permit is required to recreate on the reservation; and in addition to providing maps, regulations and permit fee information, the Natural Resources office has educational displays that promote Eglin’s rare and sensitive natural communities and management efforts.
Also remember that tomorrow is the ecdgc bag tag round. I have space in my car if you need a ride. What about all the
other guys? Sam, Dave .... etc. Do you know if any of them plan to go? Can you contact them and remind them it is tomorrow?

Excited about White Point!!
New to the forum but play often at Ferry Park.
What is the approximate time frame for completion of the White Point course?? I sponsored a hole at Ferry Park #3 and will be happy to help with White Point. I also have several other sponsors lined up so when it gets to that time please let me know and I will find more as well.
Thanks

random queries
Has Eglin ok'd this? It is fed. gov. and that usually means lots of red tape.
Would like to help facilitate and chat with those that are leading this project.
I made a list of some potential sponsors... came up with seventeen that I feel confident would contribute with a sign on the holes like Ferry Park has. Maybe ask $100-150. Will there be pro and amateur tee boxes??? This allows for twice the sponsors (are we allowed to have sponsored signs?)
The location is very exciting. For those who have not been to White Point... It is right on the water! One of the prettiest spots on Choctawhatchee Bay. It offers fishing, great kayaking area, a beach, and one hell of a sunset. Also some nice spots near by to get a beer afterwords.
I would think there would be lots of interest in this area from Niceville, Bluewater Bay and Millitary folks!!! The Bay Beacon Newspaper could be a great promoter...in Niceville it could make the front page
The course itself (I'm no course designer) would be trees with no underbrush... wide open. Trees in a field basically. I believe it will be difficult to create an interesting course. Will it be possible for the course to go into the woods to the west?
Ace Hardware is just up the road in Bluewater Bay. Are they willing suppliers of equipment?
Look forward to your responses!

Re: whats the news
Steve and I are the ones that got white point. Yes, it has been ok'd to use the land for a disc golf course. We are meeting out at white point on Thursday if you would like to come out. If you decide to come out make sure you have a pass. if you dont have one you can get one from jackson guard for $10. There will be pro and amatuer pads. ace is a sponser in helping with the course. We are supplying the baskets. It is a wonderful area and great location.

White Point Disc Golf Course
Drake, Charles and I met at White Point yestereday and started putting together some ideas for a course there. We need you input so hope you can make it out next week
to help. We will try for Thursday again.
We have 13 holes marked out with only one under 300 feet and the big daddy is 602 ft, with OB three feet behing the bakset in one direction. Most are between 350 and 450 ft from the Pros. Plan to make the Am's 180 to 280 ft. We are going to work on getting blocks with cement and PVC pipe's out for basket locations that we can move arround and flags or stakes for tee boxs. Can any one help with picking up the blocks, adding the cement and 4 foot PVC pipe in the center of them and get them out to WP? Someone with a truck?? Jeff can you help with pricing for us?
GET involved - we need help.
Mobile tomorrow
Something to do with a Chick? and a Bone?

Re: whats the news
I can't skip my Thursday class twice unfortunately.. If I can come out there I'll have to leave by 1030 and be back around 1230. If we get out there before hand I'll try to get my dad's truck since my tailgate is broken and haul the bricks with that. This course should be amazing! Hope to see several people out there. maybe we could make a weekend trip sometime soon to get more people out? The more people, the more input. The more input, the more variety.

Re: whats the news
Need a set of Junior's tees (100'-160'), in my opinion. If you want the sport to grow, need to start young. And you could also use them for an Ace Race as well!

Re: whats the news
yeah! that'll be a great addition to the course! but like Gary said we can easily slab those in once the rest is up. I'd love to see some Little Flyers tees out there like at the Blue Angel course! I hadn't even thought of that, thanks for the suggestion!

You got it -
Thanks Disckey you are right on and I agree with you on the jr tees - it has always been in your boards plan to add them into the course design before submitting the final
consept to the Military for approval. Sure that has not changed.
I will be working on ariel photos of White Point and trying to map out the course and its changes over the next month and will make
a web page for them, date them as it changes. Will let everyone know later this week when the first preview is ready.
The biggest part is getting the Pro box's in the right places and then moving in from there. Looks like showers this Thursday but that could change.
Hope to see you out there - thanks John!
Everyone that is reading this needs to get another person to join our forum. It's FREE. It will take everyone to make a great club with member benifits and more courses to play on in the future. Your board members will appreciate your excitement and help in making Disc Golf a bigger sport.
IF you play ask a friend to join and input their opinion. Lets help our board move forward.

Re: whats the news
If yall are going to white point tomorrow (Feb 4 thursday) I will not be able to make it out there, too much with school and stuff at home that day. If anyone is interested in going out there at some point let me know and I'll try to meet you there, or discuss a time that is good for the both of us
